Uber is introducing an extraordinary experience for its customers in Cape Town, South Africa. As part of its ‘Go Anywhere’ series, the newly launched Uber Safari offers a unique wildlife adventure, giving both locals and travelers effortless access to one of Africa’s most iconic experiences.
From October 4 to January 25, Uber Safari is available exclusively through the Uber app, making it the perfect day trip for those eager to encounter the Big Five—lions, elephants, buffalo, cheetahs, and rhinos. In partnership with Aquila Private Game Reserve, one of South Africa’s premier wildlife conservancies, this offering promises an affordable yet luxurious safari experience.
Frans Hiemstra, Regional General Manager of Uber in the Middle East and Africa, stated, “Our ‘Go Anywhere’ series is designed to help customers book unforgettable adventures with the convenience of Uber. With Uber Safari, our Reserve technology makes accessing a remarkable South African travel experience easier than ever.”
The safari day trip includes a pickup in a specially branded Uber Safari vehicle, allowing riders to relax as they leave the city behind. Upon arriving at Aquila, guests will be welcomed with a toast and lunch before boarding a traditional safari vehicle led by experienced game rangers. These guides will maximize opportunities for spotting the Big Five during the game drive. After the adventure, riders can explore Aquila’s beautiful grounds before returning to Cape Town.
Johan van Schalkwyk, Commercial Officer of Aquila Collection, expressed excitement about the partnership, saying, “Uber Safari provides an easy and luxurious way for people to enjoy unforgettable wildlife experiences. This offering blends modern convenience with natural beauty while supporting essential conservation efforts to protect South Africa’s biodiversity.”
Aquila Private Game Reserve is committed to conservation and sustainable tourism. Every Uber Safari booking contributes to efforts aimed at protecting endangered species and preserving South Africa’s diverse wildlife. Travelers can enjoy their safari knowing they are part of a larger mission to safeguard the country’s natural habitats.
Reservations for Uber Safari will open in the Uber app on October 2 and can be made 24 hours to 90 days in advance. The safari will be available on Fridays and Saturdays until January 25, costing a flat fee of $200, and accommodating up to four guests.
